I've spent my entire adult life singing a cappella. For over 25 years now, a cappella music has been the driving force that pushed me, whisked me around the world, introduced me to my best friends and the love of my life, and brought me opportunities and experiences I could never have had otherwise. For all of this, I will be eternally grateful. SingStrong was a way to give something back.

Not only can a music festival like SingStrong open up worlds of opportunity for singers to better themselves -both musically and professionally- but life, far outside of a cappella performance, is markedly better for having been in and around harmony.

There is nothing that connects us more strongly than the sound of the human voice. We respond to it viscerally because we all have voices -rough or smooth- full of character, reflecting who we are. And we are all striving for some kind of harmony in our lives.

To experience that harmony, boldly, creatively and gracefully sung, by artists from around the world, is simply a life-changing experience. Sharing that, as cheesy as it sounds, really makes this world better.

To talk about caring for others, about listening, about striving for perfection, about putting teamwork first -all that is worthy, but largely intellectual. It's like the written description of a sunrise; not a substitute for the real thing. But to hear those values made manifest in a cappella singing, that is life-changing.

So a cappella is inspirational on its own, but beyond this, SingStrong acts to leverage this incredible, ineffable, uplifting experience into real, measurable action. 100% of our proceeds go to charity. People don't just feel good, they do good.

Together we fight Alzheimer's -a disease that respects no racial, cultural or religious boundary- and together we support the local music programs. Every person who performs, every person who attends, whether they just buy a ticket or whether they're the high bidder at our charity auction, is helping this cause. And we can't say thank you enough for that.

Why Alzheimer's? Because it's coming for all of us,  no matter our race, gender, religion or lifestyle choice. Alzheimer's is expected to affect nearly 1 in every 3 people. Our friends, our families, ourselves. We must act now.

SingStrong supports those suffering. It supports the families and friends of those suffering. And it supports research to prevent more people from suffering.

We know that the kind of people who can be moved by voices in perfect harmony and the very same people who are moved to help end suffering.

I hope that, if you're reading these words, you'll take action too. Join us at SingStrong. Have a weekend filled with incredible harmonies and genuine camaraderie. And while you're immersed in this creative, immediate and loving community, you'll help us make a difference.

Yours In Harmony,
