Based in the Southwest of Germany, Volker Bauer has been German CASA ambassador since 1998. During that time he has served as CARA Awards Judge, CASA Vice President (2003-2004) and as CASA regional ambassador for all of Europe.

In 2001 he founded, directed and sung in the semi-pro pop and soul vocal band, "trafficJAM". Until the split-up of the group in 2005, he performed throughout Germany and had frequent appearances on national German radio shows. Bauer was also founder, member and musical director of the amateur septet "Septopus" from 1993 until 1999.

Volker Bauer produces major a cappella festivals in Germany and currently hosts "The" online platform for contemporary a cappella music in the German-speaking area (www.acappella-online.de). This project, begun in 2001, now contains information on more than 500 groups, 800 concert dates, many venues, vocal techniques and more.

By day, Volker Bauer is a computer professional working for CRM software in the consumer goods industry as Vice President of Global Customer Support.
