Larry Detwiler has been active in the world of contemporary a cappella since becoming the head of visual and performing arts and vocal music teacher at the Jakarta International School in 1990.  He has presented workshops and seminars on aspects of high school a cappella throughout south East Asia and in the states. He also runs teacher training workshops on music technology for schools in the region. His high school group, “Joint Sound” has been featured on eleven Best of High School Cappella CD’s. In addition they have had numerous nominations for CARA awards. Larry is currently the director of student activities at JIS. He sings in and directs the faculty a cappella group VOXessential.
